The Science
The Science Behind LipoDry®
Most supplements face significant absorption challenges before they reach your cells. LipoDry® liposomal technology is designed to change that — supporting enhanced nutrient delivery compared to standard supplement formats.
The Problem
The Absorption Gap
Conventional supplements face a fundamental challenge: the harsh acidic environment of the stomach can destroy a significant portion of active nutrients before they ever reach the bloodstream. Published research suggests that standard tablets and capsules may lose a substantial share of their active ingredients during digestion.
This means that high milligram counts on a label don’t necessarily translate to high milligram counts in your cells. The result? You may be paying for nutrients your body never fully uses. We call this the “Absorption Gap” — and it’s one of the biggest inefficiencies in the supplement industry.
Standard Supplement Journey
The Solution
LipoDry® — Advanced Liposomal Delivery
LipoDry® encapsulates active nutrients within protective phospholipid spheres — microscopic “armoured delivery vehicles” that mirror the structure of your own cell membranes.
Encapsulation
Active nutrients are dissolved and encapsulated within phospholipid bilayers — the same material that forms human cell membranes. Water-soluble nutrients are trapped in the aqueous core; fat-soluble nutrients integrate into the lipid layers.
Gastric Protection
The phospholipid shell acts as a protective barrier, shielding the nutrient cargo from stomach acid, digestive enzymes, and bile salts. The liposome is designed to pass through the GI tract intact.
Cellular Delivery
Because liposomes mimic the body’s own chylomicrons, they can be absorbed through the intestinal wall into the lymphatic system and bloodstream — supporting more efficient nutrient delivery.
The Data
Absorption Comparison
Published research suggests liposomal delivery can significantly outperform standard oral supplements in nutrient absorption.
Absorption ranges are illustrative and vary by nutrient. Based on published peer-reviewed research on liposomal delivery systems. Individual results may vary.
Technical Detail
How Liposomes Are Made
Phospholipid Selection
The process begins with high-purity phospholipids, typically sourced from sunflower lecithin. These amphiphilic molecules spontaneously organise into closed, spherical bilayer membranes when introduced into a controlled aqueous environment.
Precision Sizing
Initial large vesicles are refined through high-pressure homogenisation to create uniform, single-layered spheres of 100–200 nanometres. This size is optimal — large enough to comply with EU regulations while small enough for efficient cellular uptake.
Stabilisation & Quality Control
Antioxidants and stabilising co-factors ensure the lipid shell remains intact throughout the product’s shelf life. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) is used to visually verify that the spheres are properly formed.
LipoDry® Finishing
The LipoDry® process converts the liquid liposomal suspension into a stable powder through freeze-drying (lyophilisation) — a pharmaceutical gold standard. This preserves the molecular integrity of both the lipid shell and the nutrient cargo.
Transparency
What Goes Into Every Capsule
We believe you deserve to know exactly what you’re putting into your body. Every Vita Code Lab product features a complete ingredient breakdown, sourcing information, and dosage transparency — no proprietary blends, no hidden fillers.
